Ingredients

Serves : 10
  • 2 cups small pieces of raw mango


  • 3 tsp chilli powder


  • 1 tsp asafoetida


  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 tsp mustard


  • 3 tsp oil


  • 2 tsp salt

Directions

  • Put the mustard seeds into a pan of heated oil
  • Reduce to low flame when they pop
  • Add chilli powder,salt asafoetida and tumeric and stir for 3 minut
  • Turn off heat and let it cool
  • Add this mixture to the cut mangos and mix thoroughly
  • Keep this for 7 to 10 days for the flavour to seep into mangos
  • Add little bit of distilled vinegar if you like to preserve the freshness
